Push to talk

Talk only while you hold a key, even with Zync in the background.

  • In Settings → Voice & audio → Input mode, choose "Voice activity" or "Push to talk"
  • Record the key or a side mouse button right on the screen (Esc cancels); it works even with a full-screen game
  • Release delay adjustable from 0 to 1000 ms (200 ms by default)
  • The voice panel shows "Hold F8 to talk" or "Sending your voice"
  • Privacy: the global shortcut is only on while you are in voice with push to talk, and the app only gets "pressed/released" for the chosen key
  • Fix: changing one setting no longer resets the others (theme, language, volumes, devices)

Muted really means muted

Voice fixes and Spanish search filters.

  • With your microphone muted (or deafened), none of your audio is sent, even with microphone sensitivity adjusted
  • People who are muted no longer show as speaking in the voice list
  • The status menu (Online, Idle, Do not disturb) no longer overlaps its text
  • Search accepts Spanish filters: de:, en:, tiene:, antes: and después:

App sounds

18 sounds made for Zync, with full control in Settings → Sounds.

  • Sounds for joining and leaving voice, someone joining or leaving your channel, and mic and sound on or off
  • Audio cues for voice dropping and reconnecting, a stream starting or ending and someone starting to watch your stream
  • Sounds for DMs, mentions, friend requests and Zync notices
  • Settings → Sounds: master volume, on/off per type and a button to preview each sound
