Kick, ban and time out
Right-click someone in the member list. Every action asks for a reason, which is kept in the log:
- Kick — removes them from the server; they can come back with an invite.
- Ban — removes them and prevents them from returning until someone unbans them. You can delete their recent messages (last 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days).
- Time out — they stay in the server but cannot write or react until it ends (from 1 minute to 7 days). They see a notice with the end time.
You can only moderate people below you in the role hierarchy, and the owner can never be targeted.
Moderation center
In the server menu, Moderation brings together:
- Reports — see the reported message and resolve or dismiss it;
- Log — every moderation action, who did it and why;
- Bans — the list, with the option to unban;
- Word filter — messages containing listed terms are blocked.
Automatic protection
Slow mode (per channel) limits how often people can post, and anti-spam stops anyone sending too many messages in a few seconds, across all of Zync.
Report
Anyone can report a message (message menu) or a person (member list or profile card). The report goes to that server’s moderators.
